Qualifications for Teaching Faculty and Resident Assistant Positions

The administration of the American International School-Salzburg welcomes expressions of professional employment interest year-round.

Minimum qualifications for consideration for teaching faculty and administrative positions include (a) an advanced university degree from a North American, U.K. or Western European university in which English was the language of instruction, (b) at least two years teaching experience with excellent record and recommendations for teaching faculty positions, (c) and experience specific to the open position(s) at AIS-Salzburg.

Minimum qualifications for those seeking employment in the resident-care staff include (a) a university degree from a North American, U.K. or Western European university in which English was the language of instruction, (b) experience suitable for employment supervising adolescents in a dormitory setting (summer camp, previous boarding experience, etc.), and (c) strong recommendations and interest in a career in secondary education. Teaching certification is not required for resident-care staff positions at AIS-Salzburg. Please bear in mind that the administration may give preference to those candidates who are single and without dependents, speak German, or have previous professional experience in Salzburg, Austria or Western Europe. Teaching Faculty

All positions at AIS-Salzburg for the 2022-2023 school year are presently filled.  Further openings may be posted in June/July here on this website.

Resident Staff

The administration is accepting resumes, CVs and letters of inquiry from those interested in a female resident assistant position for the 2022-2023 school year.  Resident assistant candidates should be single and without dependents, have a bachelor’s degree, experience with summer camps, dormitory supervision, or/or coaching experience.  This is a full-time position contracted from September 2022 to May, 2023 and can be extended indefinitely.  The school administration can only consider candidates who are US, Canadian, UK or EU citizens and have a university degree from an American, British or Canadian university.   This is a resident position requiring residency in the school’s dormitories.  If interested, please send a letter of interest, brief CV or resume.  The administration will contact those candidates who meet the desired qualifications most completely and comprehensively.  Inquiries should be sent to:  [email protected]  (Headmaster, Mr. Paul McLean) or to [email protected] (Dean of Students, Ms. Laura Fox).
