Students are expected to:

• Bring only items appropriate for school and boarding life.
• Use personal property responsibly.
• Respect the property of others.
• Store personal belongings safely and securely.
• Comply with all school regulations regarding electronic devices, restricted items, and personal possessions.

Students remain responsible for all personal belongings brought to school.

The following categories of items are prohibited or restricted and may be confiscated:

Safety Hazards

• Fireworks
• Explosives
• Flammable materials
• Candles
• Incense
• Lighters and torch devices
• Unauthorized heating devices
• Hot plates and cooking appliances
• Other fire hazards

Weapons

• Firearms
• Ammunition
• Knives not specifically approved by the administration
• Martial arts weapons
• Replica weapons
• Airsoft, BB, or pellet guns
• Any item used or intended as a weapon

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Controlled Substances

• Alcoholic beverages
• Tobacco products
• Cigarettes
• Cigars
• Vaping devices
• Nicotine products
• Illegal drugs
• Controlled substances not properly authorized through the Health Coordinator

Other Prohibited Materials

• Pornographic materials
• Hate-related materials
• Materials promoting violence or discrimination
• Stolen property
• Any item prohibited by Austrian law

Restricted Electronics

The school may regulate the possession and use of:

• Mobile telephones
• Tablets
• Computers
• Gaming devices
• Audio equipment
• Other electronic devices

when their use interferes with academic, residential, health, safety, or community expectations.

I understand and acknowledge that:

1. AIS-Salzburg staff members may temporarily confiscate items that violate school policies or interfere with the educational mission of the school.
2. Confiscated items may be retained by the school for a period determined by the administration.
3. Certain items may be returned directly to parents or guardians rather than to students.
4. Illegal items or materials that create significant safety concerns may be referred to appropriate authorities.
5. The administration retains sole authority to determine whether an item violates school policies

I understand and acknowledge that:

1. Students are responsible for the care and security of their personal belongings.
2. Valuable items should not be brought to school unless necessary.
3. AIS-Salzburg cannot guarantee protection against loss, theft, or accidental damage to personal property.
4. Students are encouraged to report theft, loss, or damage immediately.

I understand that AIS-Salzburg has legal and professional responsibilities regarding child protection, safeguarding, health, safety, supervision, and the maintenance of an appropriate educational environment.  I acknowledge and support the school's authority to regulate student possessions, conduct reasonable inspections, and confiscate items when necessary to fulfill these responsibilities.

I understand the expectations described in this agreement and agree to comply with all school regulations concerning personal property, restricted items, room inspections, and confiscation procedures.
