The student agrees to:

• Respect and properly care for all school property.
• Use facilities, furnishings, equipment, and materials only for their intended purposes.
• Report damage, malfunction, safety concerns, or maintenance issues promptly.
• Avoid careless, reckless, negligent, or intentional actions that may damage school property.
• Respect the personal property of other students, staff members, and visitors.

I understand and agree that:

• Students may be held financially responsible for damage resulting from negligent, reckless, intentional, or unauthorized actions.
• Financial responsibility may include:

1. • Repair costs

1. • Replacement costs
   • Shipping costs
   • Installation costs
   • Professional labor costs
   • Cleaning or restoration costs
   • Administrative costs directly related to the repair or replacement

• Damage charges will reflect the reasonable cost of restoring or replacing the damaged property.

In situations involving shared rooms, common areas, or jointly used facilities:

1. Individual responsibility will be assessed whenever reasonably possible.
2. When responsibility cannot be reasonably determined, the school may assign shared responsibility to the occupants or users of the affected area.
3. The administration reserves the right to determine the most equitable allocation of financial responsibility based upon available information.

This agreement applies equally to:

• School computers
• Tablets and electronic devices
• Laboratory equipment
• Athletic equipment
• Musical instruments
• Classroom materials
• School vehicles
• Library resources
• Keys, access cards, and security devices
• Any other school-owned property

Students may be held financially responsible for:

• Lost keys
• Lost access cards
• Lost school-issued equipment, P.E. uniform
• Failure to return assigned property
• Damage caused through misuse or neglect

I understand and agree that:

1. AIS-Salzburg may invoice parents or guardians for repair or replacement costs.
2. The school may deduct approved charges from the student's incidental account when applicable.
3. Documentation supporting the assessment of damages may be provided upon request.
4. Outstanding property damage charges may be considered financial obligations of enrollment.

I acknowledge that school property is provided for the benefit of students and that responsible stewardship of these resources is an important part of community life.  I understand and accept the financial responsibilities described in this agreement and agree to reimburse AIS-Salzburg for damage, loss, repair, or replacement costs arising from my child's actions as outlined above.

I understand that school property belongs to the community and that I am responsible for using it carefully and respectfully.
