The Physics class constructed a week-long lab using a Ruben’s Tube. A Ruben’s Tube helps explain how sound waves travel longitudinally in the form of compressions and rarefactions, basically meaning areas of high and low pressure. This is all happening because of the tube being closed at one end and the other end is attached to a speaker playing different frequencies. The students had to write a lab report on the effects of the flames, measure the wavelength, and determine the velocity of the gas at different frequencies.
