Physical education (P.E.) takes place every wednesday morning from 7:55-9:45. Students are loaded onto a bus and transported to the RIF olympic sports facility about 15 minutes away from campus.
Every trimester students select the sport(s) that they wish to participate in for that trimester. There is a two week trial period of which they can switch the course. Students who sign up for team sports report to their respective team for training during both P.E. periods.
If students desire a sport that is not within the DVAC offerings, AISS offers a variety of sport disciplines within the physical education program.
Every Wednesday morning the bus leaves for the RIF sports centre at 7:40 and returns at 9:55. Period one begins at 7:55 and runs until 8:45. Period two begins at 8:50 and runs until 9:40. Days students are excused at 9:35 to provide enough time to shower.
Each PE period is worth 20 points. Students are awarded points based on tardiness, participation, sportsmanship, attitude, respectful of others, and appropriate PE attire. Students receive a zero if they are not in the appropriate attire.
Students absent from PE are excused from class with appropriate documentation for a period of two weeks. Within these two weeks the students have the opportunity to make up for the missed points by participating in after school get-fit activities. 50 minutes of after school get-fit sessions is the equivalent of one class and 20 points. Students with long-term absences from P.E. will be required to make up a certain amount of P.E. points that the athletic director deems manageable.

ATTENTION: SPRING PE DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL MARCH 14TH. THEREFORE IT DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL TWO WEEKS AFTER THE START OF THE THIRD TRIMESTER
