Outstanding Results for AIS-Salzburg Students on 2021 AP Examinations®

Students took AP Exams in May 2021 after completing challenging college-level courses at high schools around the world.  This past Friday, the results of AP exam scores were released, and we are proud to announce that average scores of AIS-Salzburg students were well above the global average, highlighted by a 100% passing rate in AP Calculus AB or BC Examinations. The global average for all students sitting the Calculus AB Examination in 2021 was 52.6% passing. The global average for all students sitting the Calculus BC Examination in 2021 was 75.7%passing. The average score of our students on the Calculus AB Examination was 3.60; the global average was 2.81.

Here are some additional outstanding results to report:
 
  • 67% of all AIS-Salzburg students sitting the AP Chemistry Examination passed.  The global average was 51.5%.

 

  • 57.1% of all AIS-Salzburg students sitting the AP English Language and Literature Examination passed.  The global average was 44.5%.

 

  • 66.7% of the AIS-Salzburg students sitting the AP European History Examination passed.  The global average was 55.3%.

 

  • 83.3% of the AIS-Salzburg students sitting the AP German Language Examination passed.  The global average was 65.1%.

 

  • 60% of the 11th graders sitting the AP Human Geography Examination passed.  The global average was 52.7%.

 

  • 100% of the AIS-Salzburg students sitting the AP Physics: Mechanics Examination passed.  The global average was 73.4%.

 

  • 60% of the members of the senior class passed at least 4 AP Examinations.

 

  • One 11th grader has passed 6 AP Examinations to date, receiving the highest mark of 5 on all of them.

 

The Advanced Placement Program enables willing and academically prepared students around the world to pursue university-level studies while still in high school, with the opportunity to earn credit (points toward an undergraduate degree) or advanced placement (the opportunity to skip an introductory level university course). AP is recognized in the admissions process by more than 4,000 universities worldwide, and outside the U.S., more than 600 universities in more than 60 countries recognize qualifying AP Exam scores. AP courses and exams are available in secondary schools and measure your mastery of university level course content. The program allows you to develop a global perspective, as well as skills such as critical thinking and problem solving. There are currently 34 AP courses and exams available. Exams are administered in May, and scores can be sent directly to the universities of your choice. AP is recognized as a highly desirable academic credential around the globe.
