The American International School-Salzburg is a small, independent boarding school now entering its fourth decade of service to young people from around the world. The school is governed by a board of directors and relies completely upon tuition income for the funding of programs and staffing both during the school year and the summer language program. Tuition income covers approximately 95% of our operating costs; the remainder is made up through donations and gift-giving. Sponsoring agreements, gifts-in-kind, and monetary donations are, therefore, fundamental to the school’s continuated success and guarantee that we are not forced to take decisions that would inhibit or reduce our ability to offer a rich and appropriate program for our international students.
The school direction, administration, and current students would like to invite all those interested to consider contributing to the school in ways which would be most appropriate given our needs. Please contact us at any time to discover which fund-raising programs are ongoing and which future plans require assistance.
Acknowledgements
The American International School-Salzburg would like to thank all those who generously donated to the school’s Library Fund drive during the 2006-2007 school year. The total amount donated was over 25,000 euro and fully covered our needs in renovation and restructuring of the school’s library. Photographs of the new library have been posted on this site and we invite all to take a look.
The school would particularly like to thank the following contributors to the 2006-2007 Library Fund:
Projects: The AIS-Salzburg Scholarship Fund
Outstanding SIPS and AIS-Salzburg graduates have left their mark on the world in tremendous ways and a significant number of these were able to attend the school only because financial aid was made available to them. Building up the strength of the school's financial aid budget will guarantee that the school continues to provide assistance to outstanding, talented young people who would not be able to consider enrollment due to tuition costs.
The school's mission and educational principles profoundly commit the board, administration, and staff to provide an optimal educational experience to a variety of students from around the world. We also believe that this incorporates a moral obligation to guarantee that the student body includes a broad range of backgrounds and nationalities so that the society which they affect upon graduation is a global one. Finally, we believe that the value of the education we offer is enhanced considerably when talented, gifted, and diverse young people from all over the world come together within our halls.
The American International School-Salzburg has had the privilege of educating an extraordinary group of young people in the past twenty-six years. However, rising tuition rates and limited internal resources have compromised our ability to guarantee that those who would benefit most are able to receive the required financial assistance. Each year, we have to turn away very talented and motivated young people due to the lack of available funds.
Our goal is to see the school grow to become one of the very best boarding schools worldwide and believe this can only be accomplished by opening the doors to the most talented young people regardless of socioeconomic background. To reach our goal, we know that we will need the assistance of many others and trust that you may wish to share in its realization. Although development objectives are still to be considered and set, we share the hope that one day in the near future, over half of our students will be able to receive financial aid and assistance.

Named Scholarships
The cost of a four-year education at the American International School-Salzburg is running close to US$ 100,000. For the school to realize its ambition of offering a quality education to those who could otherwise not afford to live and study in Salzburg, we will also require larger donations which provide funds over a longer periods of time. Such contributions will carry the name of the contributor as a legacy. The minimum contribution for a named scholarship is $500,000 for one full scholarship to one student for five years.
Should you wish to contribute a greater amount or set up a matching funds scholarship with your employer or other corporate sponsor, please discuss the details with us and we would be pleased to assist you.
