Those who have met the school’ requirements receive and American High School Diploma from the American International School-Salzburg. As with all American curricular high school programs, our diploma requirements are defined in terms of academic credits. A minimum number of academic credits in required subject areas lead to the granting of the diploma after four full years of high school enrollment (grades 9 through 12).
At AIS-Salzburg, one academic credit is granted for the successful completion of any academic course which meets a minimum of 5 periods per week throughout the school year. Courses which meet less than 5 periods per week result in partial credit assignments.
The credit requirements at AIS-Salzburg are defined as follows:
Total: 26 received over four years of enrollment
Credit Specifications:
English

German

Additionally, all students in grades 9-12 must meet the following load requirements each trimester at AIS-Salzburg:
1.
33 classroom periods each week
2.
One course in English or ESL, mathematics, science, and social studies each trimester
