The graduates of AIS-Salzburg enjoy some remarkable advantages when applying to universities following reception of our diploma. Firstly, they have accomplished their marks and preparation at a very challenging school with a purely college-preparatory program of instruction. Secondly, they have been engaged in high school with university-level material in AP courses. Additionally, they — like all boarding school students — are independent, selfsufficient, disciplined in their work habits, and know how to set and achieve their goals. Lastly, being members of an international school provides our graduates with experiences and qualities that make them outstanding global citizens. For these reasons and more, AIS-Salzburg graduates enjoy an excellent reputation at selective universities and gain a higher acceptance rate than other high school graduates.
In order to assist and guide students and their parents through the difficult decision-making associated with university studies, our college counselor begins advising students in the 11th grade and continues to work with them through the 12th grade and the submission of their applications. The college counselor additionally organizes and proctors examinations such as the SAT I and SAT II examinations as well as assists in the organization of writing the TOEFL examination and searching for scholarships. Each year, our school hosts many college and university representatives who present their programs to our junior and senior classes.
