Giving: The SIPS/AIS-Salzburg Alumni Fund

The SIPS/AIS-Salzburg Fund is designed to support the annual operating budget. Your contribution helps the school meet current obligations for essentials such as:

  • Financial aid for qualified students
  • Faculty and staff salaries and benefits
  • Laboratory equipment and classroom technology
  • Library acquisitions
  • Athletics programs
  • Music and the arts
  • Guest lecturers and artists

Full tuition pays only 85% of the actual annual cost to educate a student. The "gap" between what is paid by all students and the cost to educate them must be made up from other resources, such as gifts from alumni, parents, and friends.

Why participate?

The American International School-Salzburg operates in a very competitive and expensive market and-as a non-profit organization-relies upon the giving of others to fund the gap between the costs tuition covers (approximately 85%) and the remaining costs. Participating in the school's SIPS/AIS-Salzburg Alumni Fund gives the message that you care about the continuation of the school and appreciate the advantages that an education here provides and that you would like to make this experience available to others.

Additionally the school is relatively young and has not yet built up a basis of support from which regular contributions are forthcoming. Being overseas and physically far from most of our more than 600 graduates also creates difficulties which are reflected in lower contributions than those which would be generated annually at an older Stateside school. Now is the time for alumni to consider ways in which they can help the school meet operating costs and expand into a bright future.

Finally, support for a community of learners made up of young people from around the world who will one day go on to do great things, is an investment of the highest order and brings with it the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference in this world and supporting a very good cause: our youth.

How can I participate?

A gift to the SIPS/AIS-Salzburg Alumni Fund may be made at any time and of any amount. Certainly gifts of more than $10,000 are profoundly appreciated but a check for $5 also gets us closer to our goals and signals your positive support. If you work for a large company or corporation, you may find that they are often willing to contribute matching funds to a non-profit organization such as AIS-Salzburg. Please check with your employer to see if they support such efforts.

How can I give?

Gifts of cash and direct bank transfer are the most common forms of giving to non-profit organizations. Gifts-in-kind, real estate, and bequests are also welcome. A gift-in-kind is an item such as equipment, software, or products that is voluntarily transferred from one entity to AIS-Salzburg without charge or consideration. Gifts-in-kind can sometimes encompass tangible property, such as books, artwork, or musical instruments, that is owned by an individual and transferred to AIS-Salzburg as a gift. Gifts-in-kind cannot remain anonymous and can only be contributed to the school's governing board of directors. Please contact the school offices if you would be interested in giving gifts-in-kind to our school.

From both within Europe and overseas, a direct bank transfer of funds is the most efficient way to give to the SIPS/AIS-Salzburg Alumni Fund. Please utilize the bank transfer information provided below to contribute your gift:
