The campus of the American International School-Salzburg is located within the beautiful city of Salzburg, Austria yet enjoys an almost rural setting on the edge of the city's greenbelt. The main structure dates back to the 18th century and has been renovated over the years to include modern, efficient classrooms, laboratories, dining halls, library, computer lab, and, of course, dormitory residences. The homelike, non-institutional atmosphere of the school is enhanced by the convenience and nearness of the school's facilities on just under 8 acres of land. From the front door of the main building, our students enjoy a 15-minute bus-ride to the center of Salzburg where all the color, glory, and cultural profundity of our central-European host city can be experienced.
Because the right environment, atmosphere, and opportunity for personal interaction are critical elements of success in a boarding school, the American International School-Salzburg provides boarding facilities which are comfortable, clean, and provide the security, privacy, and convenience expected by those with high goals and expectations. All students are housed in double- and triple-bed rooms and all dormitory residences are equipped with full-sized bathrooms and showers. Adequate - but not expansive - room is given the students for clothing, books, and other personal items required throughout the school year. Approximately 75% of all students are in double rooms and live on floors of between 10 and 23 fellow students. The administration makes every effort to place students appropriately with roommates of similar age, interests, and academic goals.
