Dear Parents and Guardians;
Included in this mid-term mailing is very important information about our student information system, called PowerSchool. We are pleased to be able to offer all parents and guardians of our students the chance to get immediate and up-to-date information on academic standing and attendance through the Internet and feel that this will dramatically help improve our ability to work together towards your child’s success here at AIS-Salzburg.
As with all Web-based systems, we need to remind all users that security is critical. When you receive your login name and password, you will need to keep this information confidential and not share it with anyone. Your children will receive their own access names and passwords, so we kindly also ask that you not pass your access information on to your children. If, at any time, you feel that your access is no longer secure, please contact the school office and we will reset your information and inform you of the new login name and password.
Please realize that the utilization of the PowerSchool program and system is new to the school. All of us here at AIS-Salzburg have been working hard to get used to it and informed of its internal workings. Please be patient if there are some aspects of the program which are not functioning optimally; we hope to get all the bugs worked out as soon as possible.
Finally, please read through ALL of the information in the attached PowerSchool Parent Access Information Packet, especially the information about contacting teachers directly. We will do our best at this end to provide up-to-date information, but please realize that teaching in a boarding school is a time-consuming and difficult job and this may lead to some delays.
If questions or problems come up with your access and use of PowerSchool, please check that everything at your end is operating successfully and is set up correctly, then contact us to see if we can assist you. Like every new program, it will take some getting used to but I think it is pretty user-friendly overall.
Yours,
Paul McLean
